Mop brush for gilding in squirrel, Kolner
This brush is an essential part of any gilders toolkit, particularly if they're dealing with genuine gold. The gilders mop is used to help leaf settle down onto size as well as removing any excess leaf that hasn't adhered to the size. The soft squirrel hairs of the mop will brush away loose gold without scratching and dulling the rest of the gold. These soft, all natural bristles are fastened to the black, lacquered handle with quills, bound with gold-coloured wire.
These brushes are also well suited for applying gilding water when water gilding.

· as wetting brush for the poliment gilding
· to press and to mop gold leaf
