The Turapori base with Decerated Shellac has a composition similar to the classic Turapori Fondo with Natural Shellac, but instead of the natural shellac, the de-waxed shellac in flakes is used in alcohol, which is almost completely colorless and is characterized by an excellent level of transparency. Special additives are added to the composition of the Turapori Fondo with Decerified Shellac which facilitate the perfect closure of the wood pore and the sanding work, guaranteeing an ideal base for the subsequent finishing. The high concentration of shellac that characterizes the Turapori Base with Decerified Shellac guarantees a high dry residue in the solution, which allows you to quickly obtain a sufficiently thick base coat of turapori. The Turapori Base with Decerated Shellac is an easy application solution, it can be swab or brushed, fills the pores and eliminates imperfections with a few passes, dries quickly and is easy to sand. Thanks to these characteristics, the Turapori Base with Decerated Shellac is ideal for preparing a uniform and smooth base on light colored woods (e.g. elm, birch, maple, etc.) necessary for the subsequent application of the finish, which can be carried out with dewaxed shellac in solution drawn by pad or brush, paste wax, as well as with other types of finishes, for example with polyurethane paint. Therefore, the Turapori Fondo alla Gommalacca Decerata can also be used as a universal primer for gesso before proceeding with other gilding operations.
