The composition gives the product apolarity, medium volatility and overall low solvent power.
It easily dissolves greases, bitumens, waxes, paraffins, some acrylic resins, alkylalkoxysilanes, while it does not solubilize natural resins with few exceptions (Dammar).
Presents an average retention in the artifact.
It cannot attack any metal or alloy even after prolonged contact of years.
It is generally used pure or mixed with other solvents.
